Nourish achieves conformance against the PRSB’s Urgent Transfer Standard

By Sarah Jenkins

One of the biggest risks health and care professionals face is providing continuity of care when people move from one care setting to another, and that is why sharing relevant information is fundamental to safe, effective, high-quality care. Good handover information can help reduce time spent in hospital, support people to return home earlier and improve their outcomes. A case in point is when a person is transferred urgently from a care home to hospital. It is key to ensure that first response teams have all the information they need to make those transfers as smooth as possible.

Nourish, a supplier of care management software, has successfully achieved conformance against the PRSB’s Urgent Transfer from Care Home to Hospital Standard, the first supplier to attain a Quality Mark for this standard.

Having previously achieved conformance for About Me and the Personalised Care and Support Plan Standard, Nourish was familiar with the assessment process and found it easier to demonstrate compliance. With conformance against three standards, Nourish are quickly establishing themselves as leaders in information standards and interoperability, demonstrating the quality of their products. They are keen to build on this success further and work towards conformance with other standards.

Steve Lawrence, Head of Product at Nourish Care, said: “At Nourish, we strive for continuous improvement – by incorporating the Urgent Transfer from Care Home to Hospital Standard, we are supporting care services by mitigating risk. Through our collaboration with the PRSB, we hope to see improved workflows and efficiencies for our customers, to show we are committed to delivering better care through recognised, safe and effective care information standards. Our latest achievement means we are further contributing towards a joined-up care system.”

Lorraine Foley, PRSB’s CEO, commented: “Nourish was the first supplier to become a conformant partner with the PRSB, and I am delighted to see that their eagerness to support better care with interoperability and information standards is growing rapidly. Many congratulations to the Nourish team for achieving conformance against our Urgent Transfer from Care Home to Hospital Standard.”
