Our Commitment to Combating Modern Slavery
Modern slavery is a serious violation of human rights that continues to affect individuals across the globe in many forms. At Nourish, we recognise our responsibility to play a proactive role in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains.
While we are not currently required to publish a statement under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we voluntarily adopt its principles to promote transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to acting with integrity in all our business relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Nourish operates in the adult social care sector, providing digital solutions for care management and rostering. Our operations are primarily UK-based.
Our supply chain consists of technology providers, contractors, and professional service partners. While we consider the risk of modern slavery within our direct operations to be low, we acknowledge that risks may arise within wider supply chains. We are committed to identifying, assessing, and addressing these risks wherever they may occur.
Our Policies and Standards
We maintain policies and procedures that support our commitment to preventing modern slavery and promoting ethical practices.
This includes a Whistleblowing Policy, which enables employees and external stakeholders to report concerns confidentially and without fear of retaliation. We expect all suppliers and partners to uphold the same high standards and operate in accordance with applicable laws and ethical principles.
Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
We take a risk-based approach to identifying and mitigating modern slavery risks within our supply chain.
Our due diligence processes include:
- Conducting supplier onboarding checks and assessments prior to engagement
- Requiring suppliers to confirm compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Considering modern slavery risks as part of procurement and supplier selection processes
- Including contractual provisions requiring compliance with anti-slavery legislation, with the ability to take action where standards are not met
We also carry out ongoing risk assessments, taking into account factors such as geography, industry, and service type, and engage with suppliers where necessary to ensure alignment with our expectations.
Supplier Engagement and Accountability
We work collaboratively with our suppliers to promote ethical and responsible business practices. Where concerns arise, we are committed to taking appropriate and proportionate action, which may include remediation or, where necessary, termination of the relationship.
We encourage employees, suppliers, and stakeholders to report any concerns related to modern slavery. All reports are taken seriously and investigated appropriately.
Measuring Effectiveness
We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through a range of indicators, including:
- The proportion of suppliers subject to due diligence checks
- Supplier compliance with contractual and ethical requirements
- The number and nature of concerns raised and how they are resolved
- Employee training and awareness levels
Training and Awareness
We are committed to building awareness and understanding of modern slavery risks across our organisation.
Employees receive training on ethical standards and modern slavery awareness as part of onboarding. We also promote a culture of openness, where individuals feel empowered to raise concerns and contribute to ethical business practices.
Continuous Improvement
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continuously reviewing and strengthening our policies, processes, and supplier engagement to improve our approach over time.
In Summary
Nourish stands firmly against modern slavery in all its forms. We are committed to upholding human rights, maintaining ethical standards, and working with our partners to ensure our operations and supply chains reflect these values.
