Future Care Group: How Nourish helps us provide the best care for our residents

By Sarah Jenkins

Thank you to Future Care Group, who published the following blog on their website after rolling out Nourish in their 18 nursing homes. We love hearing how Nourish is helping and improving care services across the country!

What is Nourish?

Nourish is health and social care software that enables Future Care homes to provide top-level private respite care, convalescent care and more.

Nourish’s approach to person-centred care means residents in homes managed by the Future Care Group are constantly provided with tailored support.

Its care planning software includes:

  • Personalised, contextual care plans for each resident
  • Pictures to help capture relevant information
  • Alerts and warnings to help residents get treatment quickly
  • Emergency admission pack generation to cut down on time for residents being admitted to hospital
  • Personalised timelines with customisation for each resident
  • Body maps to help track residents’ physical needs
  • Activity records for easy viewing
  • Scored assessments to ensure support is tailored and consistent over time

At the Future Care Group, we’re implementing Nourish across the homes we manage to provide the highest level of care for our residents.

What this means for private care homes managed by Future Care Group

The best care homes provide not only the highest level of support, but ensure that their residents feel individually heard and cared for. With Nourish’s electronic health records (EHR) system, our nursing homes (situated in the South East of England) are able to see at a glance what each resident needs and what they prefer.

Electronic medical records (EMRs) managed through Nourish provide our care staff with durable and retrievable records. Supported by integrated, real-time methods of tracking resident’s status and support needs, our staff are able to better give residents the care they need.

With timely documentation and regular reviews of care plans, risk assessments and more, the support team are able to ensure support and decisions are of high quality, with residents consistently placed at the heart of everything we do.

Future Care homes aren’t just compliant: we go the extra mile

The best nursing homes are not only compliant with regulation, but go the extra mile to provide residents with the care they deserve.

Care home managers have a responsibility to provide care that’s both high quality and compliant. We use Nourish to assist in compliance with CQC regulations provided by key care bodies (including CCG). Nourish allows Future Care’s homes to track trends, provide audit evidence, and improve their service.

With these electronic health records in place, we are able to maintain our current standards of care and adapt to new quality initiatives and legislative mandates with ease.

How the Future Care Group delivers best-in-class care with Nourish

We want to empower the staff working in our care homes. Nourish enables us to provide a high-quality, person-centred approach through a simple but innovative electronic medical record system. We’re able to focus on the needs of our residents, rather than concentrate on managing and interpreting a difficult system that can’t be tailored to each resident. With Nourish, we’re able to provide a clear, honest and transparent record to those who need it.

By staying abreast of the latest innovations and concepts of care, we deliver on our promise to create opportunities for fostering change and a positive attitude in both our residents and our staff. We aim to make a difference in people’s lives, and our use of Nourish will help to make this a reality.
