Responsible AI

Nourish is committed to the responsible and ethical use of AI

The Nourish AI vision statement

Our vision it to shape the future of the care sector by adopting AI ethically and safely and embedding them into our products and their delivery. We aim to set the standard on person-centred solutions that advance meaningful outcomes for our customers and care sector, strengthening care giver impact, and most importantly, improving the lives of all who draw on care.

Triple Aim for Social Care

We seek to make a positive impact on three intersecting aspects of the care sector – Quality of Care, Personal Outcomes & Care Operations.

This Venn diagram shows the 3 core aims of Nourish responsible AI - Care Delivery, Personal Outcomes and Care Operations

  • Care Quality: Drive improvements for the quality of care delivered.
  • Personal Outcomes: Provide a personal care experience for each person utilising a service
  • Care Operations: Optimise care operations for providers while maintaining and improving their quality.

Human in the Loop

At Nourish we are committed to building technology that keeps the people utilising care at its centre. This is reflected in our approach to Responsible AI design. We build our AI transparently, in line with feedback from Nourish users and our own review processes. Ensuring our technology is always rooted in the needs of your community.

Nourish Responsible AI Core Principals

Deliberation in pursuit of AI principals

We co-design use cases for AI with Nourish users and care experts across the sector.

Human in the loop at every stage (coproduction)

We involve people from every aspect of care in our design and review processes.

Ethical and responsible AI usage

We recognise the impact AI can have on people and communities and take responsibility for the actions and decisions of our AI.

Risk-mitigation and guardrails at the heart of design

We move forward with confidence, not urgency, by applying robust review and testing procedures to every stage of AI development.

Protect privacy

Any information stored in Nourish is securely held and will not be shared outside of a Nourish product without the users consent.

Thoughtful about technology choices

We carefully review all our AI technology decisions in line with our internal compliance and information security standards.

Transparent and explainable AI solutions

We provide a window into the inner workings of our AI, helping Nourish users understand and trust how these systems work.

Red heart Red heart Quote
“When releasing AI solutions, we should keep in mind how the solution gets used, and make sure the output of AI is checked by humans so it’s augmenting a workflow rather than automating it.”
Nuno Almeida Nourish CEO

Compliance and Ethical Application

A key aspect of designing Responsible AI that augments rather than automates workflows in social care lies in the regulatory compliance and ethical application of our AI models.
